A Consumer and Trade Association

Governor Jerry Brown signed SB1409 into law. As of January 1, 2019, this is the new Hemp law for California. Stay tuned to this site for the latest on the rules and regulations being worked out in Sacramento. The CDFA and the IHAB (Industrial Hemp Advisory Board) are working on the guidelines for the County Agriculture Commissioners to follow as is customary for any AG crop. Hemp is now Federally legal. Each state has to submit a plan to the USDA for approval before this crop can be grown.

We are actively involved in the policy making going on. Our executive director appears regularly at the CDFA/IHAB meetings in Sacramento; advocating for farmers and others interested in growing processing and using Hemp products.

Unless you are a research farm as was the case last year for eight farms in California that are almost 400 acres. The California Hemp Foundation sponsored those research farms and will do many more for 2019 and beyond.
